They pride themselves on having something to fit any woman, big or small, because their specialty is making unusual sizes that are not readily found elsewhere.

A family run business for over ten years, Jane Mills, the owner, has over twenty years experience in the lingerie industry. In addition to their own handmade lingerie, the company also offers lingerie and swimwear from other name labels that offer odd sizing. Many of the 2008 lingerie and swimwear collections are now available on the EnVie website.

The outstanding feature about this company, that caught my eye,One Way Stretch embroidered lace was the fact that they sell hundreds of different laces by the meter for custom made pieces. The customer chooses the lace that she likes and the designers start sewing. This is ideal for matching other pieces or finding the perfect colour to wear under a particular garment.

Customer service seems to be paramount with EnVie as the company offers specialty services such as converting bras that are now too small, cutting patterns to remake a bra that has been discontinued by the manufacturer, offering phone orders, website help and in shop orders as well. Here in the US, we’ve had half-cup sized bras available for a couple years now. These are certainly a life-saver for the many women stuck in the no-man’s land between cup sizes, and one step closer to personally tailored underpinnings. Even better, they were created by discount brand Playtex. But there was one fatal flaw in this plan: these bras aren’t really sexy. Playtex’s American line of half-cup bras, Half Sizes Too, has a good variety of seamless bras in three different colors- but not a whole lot else. The new UK line, MySize, was recently launched with three styles and four colors. One is a utilitarian seamless bra (we do all need those) but there are also two pretty lacy varieties.

It’s small, but it’s a start. Hopefully even prettier ones will be available soon. The UK line looks a bit more expensive, but it’s nothing so bad. Especially if it ends the heartache of many hard-to-fit women! MySize is available in whole and half sizes from A-D cups. Buy them at Figleaves, or search for a vendor at the Playtex UK website. We’ll soon have them in our shopping backend too, by the way!

Well, and I’m quoting The Sun here: “The light-up lingerie seen here – which also comes in cream – will be worn by celebs including actress Lisa Faulkner and GMTV host Kate Garraway during the walk on May 19. Style guru Danielle Proud’s design won’t be on sale to the public but walkers can request special glow kits to brighten up their own bras. “
