You can catch up by watching this video. It has been a couple of years since TLP featured Le Doux, but the company continues to rack up press.

The company started in 2005 by Juliana Renz and Marly Renz. A Brazilian heritage has followed them to California where they design the lines that make up the brand (swimwear, lingerie, kids, lifestyle).

Their merchandise is sourced in Brazil and is hand made. Currently, they offer eight sets – each link below is an inseparable bra and knicker set.

None of the sets comes with much of a description except the Creme Brulee which includes a “Swarovski crystal crust.”

In the mid-1950s, Sheena Queen of the Jungle, played sheena queen of the jungle by Irish McCalla, created a hit out of the 26 t.v. episodes that were produced. Inspired by the Tarzan films, the series was so popular that even Elvis Presley made one of his first acting appearances on the show.

Irish ran, swam, and saunted through the jungle in her torn animal prints on 1950s t.v. when June Cleaver types were the normat home. As the decade progressed, the foundation for civil and familial unrest took root. Sheena and her jungle attire were precursers of things to come in society and a wonderful escape from the rigid roles women played at that time.

Sheena Queen of the Jungle has made its way to main stream fashion today. For the last couple decades, jungle prints have torn up the run ways, beaches, and back yard bar-b-ques, going in and out of fashion. Now-a-days, the print has become so popular that even my 54-year-old mother-in-law wears the wildest animal print she can find to go pool-side.

The first thing you notice when putting on the bikini bottom is: “oh my this is sexy!”. This may sounds like a pure compliment but I was somewhat scared to be honest. This really is Brazilian style and I usually wear the full size bikini bottoms… Once I got over myself (I was on a mission!) and the tinier than expected pants I noticed the pretty bead details on the sides: great success!Le Doux St Tropez Bandeau Halter Bikini Detail Really, not only do these look great (check the photo for detail of the structure!), they didn’t bother me at all while I had the bikini on (neither did the size by the way, the bottom isn’t trying to crawl up anything if you catch my drift ;) ).

The halter bandeau looked so beautiful on the Le Doux website that I was pretty sure I’d like it. After getting some help from Bert getting me strapped up in the back I can honestly say this is a winner. The beautiful detail from the bottom’s side returns on the top and it really adds that little extra to the design.Le Doux St Tropez Bandeau Halter Bikini You can expect quite a few of these halter bandeau designs on the beach (I’ve seen them in many 2007 collections), but not too many will have this pretty detail, believe me ;)

I love the final look. I didn’t have a beach close by to go take some photo’s so it’s a living-room-bikini-photo, but at least you now have an idea about who Mandolina is ;) ! Want to go shopping? The stocklist is on the Le Doux website, expect prices to be around $150!

I don’t know about you but that sounds pretty okay to me. The young and fresh brand is very ambitious, and co-founders Juliana Renz and Marly Renz say in their mission statement:

Inspired by the passion, sensuality and beaches of Brazil, all suits are cut Brazilian style, but with a little extra fabric for the “cultural adjustment”. Each suit is made in our own manufacturing facility in Brazil by a team of expert seamstresses.

Well, all I can say is, the photo’s look absolutely stunning. Thanks to the people over at Le Doux Swimwear we’ve received a huge amount of high quality photo’s… I hope you enjoy them!
