Cheapundies.com is chock full of high-quality brands you can find at Freshpair.com, but at heavy discounts. And don’t worry – these aren’t seconds. The inventory at Cheapundies.com is all brand name, first-quality overstock and closeout goods. Basically, it’s pieces that they could charge you a whole lot more for. But they don’t.

When I first took a look at this new site, I was immediately struck by how fun it is. I mean, the logo is a pig in underwear! And the “About Us” page said,

“What you find at cheapundies.com will blow your mind. It’s the kind of stuff that can make you believe in unicorns.”

I took that as a challenge! Everyone wants to get the most for their money – so I wondered, how much could I get? I set out with a budget of $75 to see what I could find.

First up, I found a Mary Green Silk Knit with Lace Chemise. It is 100% silk edged with scalloped lace at the neckline and hem. It’s slinky, black, and absolutely boyfriend approved I found it for $25, which is half off the $50 retail price. $25 for a silk chemise? That’s a total bargain.

I’ve been curious about Nancy Ganz after hearing some good things about the brand, but I hadn’t had the chance to try any of their pieces yet. I found the Nancy Ganz Body Hip Slip, which is a half-slip with firm, smooth shaping power. I picked it up for only $15, which is 50% off! And because it’s tight, it’s a bit sexy even though it’s technically shapewear.

I have been looking for the Ginch Gonch Crotch Rocket Long Johns for a couple years now. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found one for 40% off. In my size. I had to have it! Okay, it’s not technically sexy lingerie. But it is underwear, and it is definitely something cute to wear curled up in front of a cabin fireplace or on the couch to watch a movie. Sadly, if you like these you’ll have to keep looking. They have already sold out. But there are still plenty of men’s Ginch Gonch items available on Cheapundies.com at a steep discount.

DT Underwear is a brand I’ve never been able to try out before. But I needed some new plain panties that I could wear to the gym, and when I saw the DT Underwear Lemon Meringue Basic Brief for only $6.19 (75% off the $24.75 list price!), I quickly added that to my cart as well. One word of warning – if anyone is looking to buy this same style, I’d advise sizing up. I ordered my normal size but I think I would need them in size larger (or even two sizes).

There were still a few dollars left in my budget, which I used to get a Le Mystere Ultra Soft Boyleg Brief in a sweet pink color. These tied with my DT briefs for the largest discount – with the 75% discount, I picked these up for only $5 instead of the usual $20. These are great and I would have stocked up if I didn’t have a budget set out ahead of time. I’ll probably make another order very soon and buy as many as I can!

I made out like a bandit at Cheapundies.com. With only $75 I got a package full of Mary Green, Nancy Ganz, Ginch Gonch, DT, and Le Mystere! My largest discount was 75% off and my lowest was still a pretty hefty 40%. There was plenty of information available on every page to help me evaluate my choices before I purchased like fabric information, crucial measurements, and multiple views.

Browsing the site, it looks like the selection has gotten even larger and more varied in the short time since I placed my order, and I would bet that they are adding more every day. I know that the inventory on a discount site is likely to grow and change rapidly, so I’ll have to keep my eye on this site! With bras as low as $8, panties as low as $4.50 and sleepwear as low as $7.75 (and these are on good brands), I can’t afford not to shop at Cheapundies!

As you can see, this isn’t a glamorous lingerie line — these are basic undies, but the kind you don’t mind showing off!

National Underwear Day was a lot of fun and has since received some

One of the more lighthearted moments of the day was when I had the chance to meet Ethan Reynolds and Benjamin Bradley, also known as the Ginch Gonch Boys! While talking to this dynamic duo (in nothing but their Ginch Gonches and their cowboy boots, of course), I learned more about how Ginch Gonch is attempting to revolutionize the men’s intimate apparel industry through their beyond basic offerings.

Could you tell me a little bit about Ginch Gonch?
The brand is about two years old. It’s based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. However, New York is a popular hot spot for the brand.

What is the inspiration behind Ginch Gonch?
At Ginch Gonch, our motto is “Live Like a Kid.” Everything is bright and fun. Underneath your clothes you can express yourself in a different way. Be playful. One example is a pair of briefs with fire truck engines all over them. Kind of like underoos.

What impact is Ginch Gonch having on men’s underwear?
Other companies are now starting to imitate this idea. Ginch Gonch has paved the way for colorful and fun underwear for men.

Could you tell me more about the Ginch Gonch products?
One line we have is the Western line. The guys and girls actually have matching pairs. It allows couples to have some fun.

Some of the styles we have for men are the brief, low rise, sport brief. For the girls, we have thongs, briefs, and go-go briefs. The briefs actually have the look of the men’s brief.

The newest line for fall is called Jungle Fever. It features a lot of animal prints.

Do you think that guys are really going to go for this?
Guys are always a little resistant, but hopefully the influence of their girlfriends will help. They are starting to come around though.

Could you please tell me about Report Collection?

The other industry insider I had the chance to meet with was Lauren Deatherage of Cotton Incorporated.

Tell me about how Cotton became involved with today’s event?
National Underwear Day is about underwear, which is something so personal. Consumers want underwear that is comfortable, fashionable, fun, and easy to care for, and those are all attributes of cotton. We do a lot of lifestyle monitoring. We survey consumers to see what they prefer and we have found they prefer natural materials, like cotton, as opposed to a synthetic material, close to their body. They want something breathable.

What kind of trends are you noticing?
A lot of cotton boyshorts. With the flouncy skirts and dresses that are popular now, women want coverage without showing panty lines. Cotton boyshorts allow them that freedom. I also notice a lot of bright and fun colors.

How about with men?
There are a lot more tailored boxers and boxer briefs. Men’s pants are now skewing a bit slimmer so men need undergarments that work well under these style pants.

What are some brands that you like and why?
I really like Diesel for men because they have lots of bright and fun colors. Ginch Gonch also is fun. They have a Western theme and some denim inspired prints. Hanes has always been a staple. Now they are producing more bright, bold colors to their cotton basics. They are becoming more fashion forward. I also like Le Mystere and Natori. They have some beautiful cotton and lace pieces.

Island. Today’s event wouldn’t be possible without a number of other sponsors including Chantelle, Le Mystere, and Wacoal, all of which were represented at the CILA awards last night (but more about that later!).

Here in Times Square the festivities began at 11 am with a runway show featuring both male and female models. This show truly proves that men and men’s underwear are carving a niche in the intimate apparel industry. Brands such as Diesel, Ginch Gonch, and Report Collection are displaying the latest trends such as colorful patterns and playful designs in variety of cuts to match the needs of men. And the models aren’t so bad to look at either! In addition to their undergarments, the models are donning freshpair.com temporary tattoos on their arms and across their abs.

Only in New York will you not only find underwear being modeled, but also be able to get your own “fresh pair!” Just another block down, a consistent line has been snaking in and out of a Freshpair.com tent. Despite the heat, those waiting know it will be worth it. In the meantime, Freshpair representatives are bringing cold bottles of water out to the crowd.

I spoke to a few people waiting in line. Merrill, who lives close to the city, ventured into the city for a few hours. When asked how she found out about the event, she commented that she saw an ad in a magazine offering free underwear and was fascinated.

Friends Rebecca, Julie, Felicia, and Tiffany, from Long Island, happened to be passing through Times Square when they were approached about the event and decided to check it out.

Another gentleman, visiting from Washington with his son, saw people in underwear and decided to do some investigating.

Upon entering the tent, visitors are directed to one of three changing pods, graciously held by the handsome models, in which they can then change into a “fresh pair.” On the way out of the tent, the visitors are also the lucky recipients of 10% off their next purchase at freshpair.com as well as some samples from Anthony for Men and a copy of Shape magazine.

While talking with the crowd, I found a number commenting that they are not regular online lingerie purchasers. Hopefully today’s event will bring them to Freshpair.com not only for the site’s great customer service and wide selection, but also for their commitment to giving back to the community described in my interviews with Michael Kleinmann, President of Freshpair.com and Founder of National Underwear Day and Scott Millstein, Chief Operating Officer of Safe Horizon, who have recently established Freshpair, Freshstart, the charitable entity of Freshpair that provides basic necessities for victims of violence.

I also interviewed a number of industry insiders who commented on the trends in both women and men’s intimates.
