The ivory-colored Belle collection consists of a basque, balconette bra, suspender belt, garter, French brief, and thong and exudes the elegant grace that Charnos is known for. The Belle basque features stretch satin and an overlay of vintage-style delicate lace accented by crystal drop beading, silky ribbon lacing, and tiny sequins.

Both the basque and bra offer detachable and convertible straps, all in sizes up to a G cup! Prices are £16 – £56.

The invention of tights should have meant the end for stockings, but whilst the sales of tights continue to fall stocking sales are holding steady as new generations of stylish women discover their appeal. Nigella Lawson declares in this month’s Esquire magazine: “Stockings never fail to make you feel sexy”, and goes on to declare “I’ve worn them with nothing but a pair of shoes in bed before”. Oh la la!

What Katie Did specializes in retro style stockings and lingerie. Their flagship London boutique in the heart of Portobello opened on National Stockings Day: Friday 19th October.

Their ‘Bring Back Stockings’ petition has received hundreds of signatures with comments including:

The brand selection is obviously the strongest point of the store: they’re all luxurious labels that need no introduction and that are famous for their good value for money. I’m pretty much sold if a store has both Charnos and Beau Bra — so consider the brands approved.

The price tags are okay — they’re cheaper than let’s say Figleaves for most of the shared items, so that’s never a bad deal!
