People in South Africa are trying to make incomes for themselves by starting small businesses to make their lives a little more comfortable. As a result of this new era, a couple homegrown lingerie entities have appeared, mainly because of the exposure from the internet. So I decided to quickly mention a couple websites that deserve a little attention to their interesting lingerie endeavours.

AfricaMyBra.com makes gorgeous beaded bra straps and g-strings. Basically the little “company” is built on eco-friendly and people-friendly principles from hiring unemployed home workers to using recycled paper for the packaging. The g-strings come in white or black material with beautiful glass beads in green, red, blue and white. The bra straps are just as pretty and they also have a unique twist on the ankle bracelet called the “shu”.

MoonlightLingerie.co.za, a family enterprise, makes quality, comfortable lingerie in their Cape Town factory. One of the company’s features is selling only to boutiques and party plan agents keeping their products exclusive and free from mass production or distribution. While small compared to lingerie conglomerates, the selection of lingerie and sleepwear is nonetheless quite pretty with beautiful lace trimmings, sweet satin bows, sexy animal prints and fashionable pink stripes.

Divine-Creations.co.za, owned by Ennie Bartlet, custom designs luxury lingerie. Ennie accepts special orders for bras, nightgowns, corsets and other lingerie pieces in the client’s choice of design, colour and fabric in sizes ranging from 30A – 50DD.
