While I was a little apprehensive about trying a new site, the clock is ticking, so I had to jump on it. Navigating the site was easy and the check out process was a breeze. I appreciated the follow up email detailing my purchase. The set was shipped the following day and arrived neatly packaged a few days later.

The site features swimwear brands like L*Space and Luli Fama and lingerie brands including Undrest and Dessous. While the number of brands featured is small, the selection is decent and the purchasing process is easy. I would definitely use this site again.

The concept behind our line was to create something sexy and beautiful yet comfortable and practical. We want every woman who wears our line to feel beautiful from the inside out. We have created designs that are very imaginative and sexy, using the best products and our fabrics are hand picked in Europe… We are three sisters that were born and raised in Mexico City. We have been living in the United States since 1983. Like many foreigners, we are trying to live the American dream. As you know, there is nothing harder than quitting your job to pursue your dream. But that is exactly what we did. To us, the American dream was to open our own business. So we all quit our jobs and worked really hard to develop a beautiful line of lingerie.

The lingerie bug bit the Baril family a couple generations ago already, too: “The idea came to us from our grandfather. He was an amazing man, he escaped from a concentration camp during WWII and ended up in Paris, France. At that time he started cutting lingerie in his mother’s kitchen and would sell the lingerie to Galleries Lafayette. [...] Our grandfather helped us create our vision and sadly passed away in October of 2003. We remember how the Rabbi mentioned in his eulogy how our grandfather was the one who brought color to the textile industry in Mexico.”

The Lavit-girls had a vision and a plan — but were still missing a name. “One day while keeping our grandmother company, we were writing down names and we were going crazy because nothing seemed right. All of the sudden, our grandmother (who by the way barely said much and was very soft spoken), said to us: “How about Lavit?” Imagine us, our mouths were wide open, when she continued saying… it’s a little bit of the three of you…. Laura, Vivi and Tina. We knew at that point we had our name. We continued full steam ahead developing our line. Sadly, our grandmother died on August 7, 2004 from a broken heart. She never got to see our line!”

Bisikay is current available at a number of boutiques including Intimacy in both New York and Atlanta, Delicates in Boca Raton, and Le Soutien in Denver. While I did not see the option to purchase these on the websites, you may want to visit if you are in the area or give them a call. Hopefully, Bisikay will be in more stores very soon. As always, the detailing is impeccable. I love the keyholes on each side of the bikini. The addition of the bow above each is simply darling!

For Autumn/Winter 2008, Lavande SWK is introducing the glamorous group, “Primadonnas and Sugarmamas.” This impressive 20 piece collection, featuring bralettes, babydolls, knickers and more, retains the signature, sensual style of Lavande SWK while adding new elements, such as elegant bras with more structure.

Fleur’t is possibly best known for its super comfortable and super soft lulu’s boy pant! To accommodate the wide range of women who swear by this staple, lulu’s boy pant are now available in two new sizes – Petite/Small and Large/Large in addition to the already existing Small/Medium and Medium/Large! And the sizes aren’t the only new addition. Fleur’t has added an assortment of fun, eye-popping colors and cute, sassy patterns. The Spring/Summer collection is already in stores and will continue to appear in stores over the next few months. One new group for spring, valerie, features heathered rayon spandex in black and grey edged with ivory stretch cluny lace. Both the empire cami and chemise are marked by a very fleur’ty open front. The same stretch lace accents both the tunic and cropped ruffle pant.

I love the chantal group as it reflects a new trend in fleur’t lingerie – prints! Made of silk charmeuse and overlaid with lace, chantal is perfect for lounging or sleeping. In addition to hot pink and aqua, the lace bust cami and chemise and coordinating boxer short also is available in coral swirl or aqua swirl prints.

With spring comes an influx of weddings, so vanessa is perfect for the blushing bride. Choose from a lace front low-rise thong, lace bralet, and lace bust cami and chemise.

Speaking of prints (again), jessica is an all print group that evokes a youthful spirit! Pair the cami with the matching lace brief or long wide leg pant or the chemise with the lace v-thong. Prints include pink leopard, green floral, pink polka dot, and ivory polka dot!

If all of this wasn’t already enough, lulu has to make an impression on spring! Look for lulu in light, airy springy colors like white, sky, and pink! Perfect for the tropical vacation you will need around that time! After all that fun, it will be time for rest and relaxation. Muted colors like ivory, pink, and black are accented with a silvery shade called dove, reflecting the calm and serene onset of summer.

There are so many other exciting elements to the collection including more prints, more bright colors, and more styles. I love the low rise ruched back panty in the amy collection as I think the ruched looked is absolutely darling and flatters the female form. Additionally, it is edged with a sweet heart shaped elastic, which I am sure will make it popular with lots of ladies. I also like the agatha collection as it offers a new tunic dress for the client who wants a little more coverage. In the caroline collection, there are a range of styles with a variety of coverage options. Choose from the spaghetti strapped, lace bust cami and chemise or the lace tank and tank dress featuring wider straps for additional coverage.

Third Floor Design – Frivolous Necessities.

What a fabulous company slogan and what better way to describe lingerie! Tiffany Ho and Brenda Li, the designers behind Third Floor started the company in 2003 with the goal of tapping into the “fine line between outerwear and innerwear” niche. When I heard the name, I instantly knew that it referred to a section of the store where lingerie was merchandised. Anyone, who has bought lingerie in a major city in Canada, knows that the big stores with six or seven floors typically display the lingerie on the third floor. This way, it is out of the sight of the walk by traffic but at the same time close enough to the first floor for ladies to access.

Third Floor pieces are bright, fun and comfortable standing proud as a Made in Canada label. Because quality control is of the highest standard, all design work, production and distribution originates from their base in Vancouver. While their products are sold from select retailers, take a peek at their own website to view this fabulous collection.

A Canadian success story for over twenty years, the company’s reputation and huge following was created by its founder and still active visionary Chantal Levesque. In keeping with her beliefs of exceptional quality, the need for sophistication and above all, refined, glamourous ready-to-wear swimsuits and cruise wear, Chantal has decided to honor all women, by naming each theme of her 2008 collection after a female’s name. And on a bit of whimsical note…. Billy Rose Lingerie

Hmmm, this designer has to be the best-kept secret because his/her line of lingerie, specifically the Lux Undies, seems to be really hot in Toronto and nowhere else. The designer participates in fashion shows and women can be heard saying the undies are incredibly comfortable but I have yet to find an online retailer selling the collection. This mystery will require me taking a fast trip to Toronto to see what all the buzz is about and then I will report back in a future post. Even the website content seems to be a secret with only a homepage. If any Toronto ladies are reading this article, please comment and let us know the full scoop.
