The company fueled their growth by capturing the costume market. Leg Avenue costumes consists of hundreds of shrink wrap costumes every year. They also retain their focus on hosiery with over 300 different SKUs in their distribution channel. Recently, they’ve added shoes and a swimwear line called Skinny Dip.

The line is divided into a Day Collection of flirty styles and a Night Collection which offers more sophisticated pieces. Leg Avenue has an enormous distribution network with hundreds if not thousands of independent businesses that resell the product. Many of those companies sell their product through Amazon’s marketplace. Pricing ranges from $15-60 US.

Surprisingly vintage, Andres Sarda’s University label is really looking glamorous as ever. I’m absolutely loving this line, so in stead of showing you a couple photos – here’s a boatload! ;-)

The British/Colombian designer aims for combining quirky style and feminine glamour. Deborah began the business in the early 2000s with hand crafted pieces she made in her kitchen. She sold them all to Selfridges and they sold out within a week. From their, the brand took off with a lot of hard work from Deborah overseeing fabric prints, cuts, and manufacturing. Today, Pistol Panties can be found at Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys, Selfridges, Villa Moda, and Deborah’s own store in Notting Hill. Deborah’s site suggests that Pistol Panties are available at Figleaves, but I couldn’t find them. I did find them at NYC’s Catriona Mackechnie and online here as well as Bordello in London and online here. Deborah is also running an online store.

Hawaiian Tide is a mix and match collection of string tie tops, triangle tops, full cup underwire tops, string tie bottoms, bikini bottoms, high cut bikini bottoms, short bottoms, surf shorts, short dress, and a conservative one-piece, designed from fabrics of “tropical hibiscus silhouettes against a watercolour background, available in sunset orange and ocean blue”.

Equally as sexy are the other four lines of gorgeous swimwear.

  • Candy Solids in bright pastels including Lemon Yellow with green binding, Lime Green with blue binding, Peach accented with purple binding, Berry Blue with yellow binding and Grape with peach binding. Each colour is made to complement the others so you can create your own custom ensemble from the varied tops and bottoms, and skirt or dress.
  • Spiral is a mesmerizing floral mix of red, white and black hues. In addition to the same styles from the other lines, this collection adds a bandeau top to the selection.
  • Dizzy refers to the fabric of this collection and what Ripples calls “head spinning print”. The prints are available in Dizzy Green and Dizzy Blue as well as shiny solid colours called Moss Green and Royal Blue.
  • Sunburst is a lively collection of “fun diagonal plaids with symmetrical floral emblems, binded in complimentary deep accent colours, available in blue, green and orange and shiny solids in yellow, orange and red binded in corresponding plaids”. Sunburst also includes a short tankini that is not found in the other lines.

Sizes appear to suit both small and large bosomed women and the underwire tops are made with wider straps to support larger breasts. Ripples is a beautiful line of swimwear. Vivacious designs, exciting colours and prints, classic and conservative styling, it is as lovely as the Paradise from which it came!
