The sun is still beating down in my corner of the world, and I’m still making weekend plans to go swimming in my new bikini, so I sometimes forget that in only a few months we will be turning up the heat and looking for richer, moodier lingerie. But when that time does come, Prima Donna will have us all covered. Here’s what they have in store: rich jewel tones, sumptuous embroidery, and sophisticated cuts.

This Autumn/Winter 2009 collection isn’t available yet, but retailers who carry the brand include HerRoom, Bits of Lace, and BiggerBras.

Popular European lingerie label PrimaDonna has just launched photos of their brand new Spring/Summer 2009 lingerie collections on their site – and as always, I love what they’ve done!

Very intimate and classy pieces with loads of sober colors dominate the new PrimaDonna collection. Stunners such as Kensington, Satin Boudoir and Santa Cruz might not be signature PrimaDonna pieces – they do add a little more variety to the sober undertone of the label.

This is not the most playful brand. PrimaDonna’s clients however are looking for high quality and high class lingerie, and it looks like PrimaDonna has delivered them just that yet again!

Lucile Luxury Lingerie Launches in Manchester

Situated on Police Street in the heart of Manchester’s designer boutiques, Lucile is home to some of the most desirable and exclusive lingerie brands available such as Damaris, Mimi Holliday, Madam V and Aubade.

Inspired by the original Parisian couture house, Lucile founded by her great-great grandmother, the infamous Lady Duff Gordon (who introduced the first lingerie styles to Edwardian society), owner Camilla Blois wants to give women a shopping experience that they will never forget. Specialists in larger French lingerie brands and larger cup sizes, Lucile offer a bespoke fitting service including champagne refreshments and an in-house tailoring service to ensure a perfect fit for every woman.

My grandmother had beautiful couture houses in Paris, London and New York and was the first house to make lingerie for women, freeing them from constrictive corsets and Victorian dress.”

SOL Lingerie on NBC’s Today Show

Cindy Johnson is the co-owner of SOL (Store of Lingerie in Denver, Colorado). Recently, she stepped back in the national spotlight with two appearances on NBC’s Today Show. “With over 20 years of experience fitting bras, Cindy’s passion and love of the product has helped propel Denver’s SOL to be one of the top lingerie specialty stores in the country.” Cindy’s spots on the Today show are part of her career’s work to help the widely-reported 8 out of every 10 women wearing the wrong size bra in the US.

The shows ran on September 13 and 15. They are archived on the SOL site. During both segments, Cindy stressed the need for a “wardrobe of bras” to solve many problems including: slipping straps, support, visible bra lines, and more every day problems.

Sans Complexe Lingerie

If you aren’t in the Oasis Odille demographic and your measurements escape the narrow sizing of mall stores, Wolf Lingerie has a product line that might interest you. It is called Sans Complexe. Currently, Sans-Complexe has five collections: Knit, Lace, Embroidery, Guipure, Special Operations.

Wolf Lingerie was also established in 1947, and is now a 50m (UK) business. Headed by Rémy Wolf, it employs around 120 people in its design, sales and export departments in Alsace, as well as a staff of over 35 at its research and development office in Hong Kong. Wolf Lingerie also manufactures brands Billet Doux and Rosy, while its private label division produces collections for some of the biggest names in the market. (From Lingerie Buyer February 2007)

As you can tell, this is an elegant line for fuller figured women that would compare favorably to the lines from Marie Jo / Prima Donna that have recently embraced an extended sizing scheme in cup, back, and waist.
