Lingerie Storage: Chests

For far too long, my lingerie has been stored in fabric bins in my closet. I know, I know. For shame! The way my current bedroom ceiling slants, there was no way to get a tall chest in there (and there are so many doors in the room that there was no good spot for a low, wide one either). But I am moving soon and this weekend I made an exciting purchase – a new lingerie chest! I can’t wait to organize all my favorite pieces in their new home.

While shopping, I saw that there are a lot of options out there in case you’re in the market for one yourself. After all, we spend so much money and invest so much emotion on lingerie, and some pieces (bras and corsets!) are real workhorses. They deserve a pretty place to rest! Here are some that caught my eye.

This chest from Tommy Bahama is very ornate and not really my style – but the reason I like it is because of the detail at the top. Through those windows, you could display some of your loveliest lingerie or maybe a pretty perfume bottle.

This mirrored style from Horchow is perfect for stepping back and admiring yourself in a pretty new purchase!

Lingerie only looks better when you’re wearing pearls or diamonds with it (faux is OK too, no one will know in dim candlelight!). This chest lets you keep your jewelry close at hand while you’re picking out your lingerie.

You might faint when you see the price of this lingerie chest from Beauchanon ($9,000!) but I had to include it just because it’s so cool. And the curves of the design remind me of a corset!

Lastly, this lingerie chest is more literally corset-inspired. And more affordable too!

I know I’ve only just barely scratched the surface of the selection out there. Do you have a lingerie chest you love, or have you seen one you can’t help but admire?

I love the mirrored version! The perfect way to store delicates – especially with nice drawer liners…
