Lingerie-Clad Bottles of Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Perfume

Have you seen the bottles for Jean Paul Gaultier‘s “Classique” fragrance? I have to admit I hadn’t until I happened to see an ad for one a few weeks ago, although the fragrance (and the bottles) have been around for more than a decade. The reason we’re talking about this on TLP, though, is because the bottles are shaped like a woman’s torso and new designs are introduced every year – often the bottles are dressed in seductive lingerie! Here are some of the present and past versions of the bottle:

In 1993, Gaultier described the then-new scent to Women’s Wear Daily:

“One part dusty loose powder, like my grandmother wore — I think it was old Coty; one part that smell you get when you are sitting in the front row of the theater — for me, I think of going to The Chatelet when I was 12, and the curtain goes up, and the hot lights are on the costumes, wigs and sets, and you breathe it all in. And, just to be modern, one part nail polish remover!

“But listen, this is not a joke. I set out to create something you really want to wear. Smells are important because they remind you of certain people. If you smell this and you think of me, I want it to be good! And there are flowers, vanilla, a lot of things.”

Classique can be purchased at JeanPaulGaultier.com, where some bottles can also be personalized. Any of these would make such a pretty addition to your vanity or dressing table!

I do too! Unfortunately I finally got a chance to sample this perfume this past weekend and…it’s definitely not for me. No pretty bottles for my vanity!
