Katrina Hodge, lingerie model, wants swimsuit round Miss World scrapped
Katrina Hodge, mentioned on TLP when she modeled for La Senza, is now proposing to scrap the swimsuit round in the Miss World competition. Her appeal is getting quite a bit of media attention as she’s representing a high profile nation, and because of her own high profile, being well known in the UK as “Combat Barbie,” being a soldier who joined the army when she was 16 and having served in Iraq.
Katrina proposes to replace the Swimsuit round with a “sports challenge”. “I think it’s nerve-racking enough for girls to get up on a stage and speak, let alone appear in a swimsuit,” she said.
Doesn’t she think having to hit a baseball or having to sink a free throw in front of millions would be even more stressful?

Ok, so i get the bit about standing and speaking in a swimsuit…But correct me if I am wrong here, this is a beauty contest and the all the women signed up knowing what the specific stages would be, correct. So as in any competative pursuit you menatlly prepare youreself for that specific task
While the swimsuits and high heels outfit have always struck me as just a little odd, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with considering a how pleasing contestant’s figure is. Certainly having judges who preferred a more classic healthy figure might help, but if they were to change from bathing suits to something else, I would much prefer that it was lingerie.
