Customers Model in new Bravissimo Campaign
You’ll be seeing some fresh faces in the new Bravissimo campaign – faces of Bravissimo customers themselves modeling the voluptuous wares! Eschewing experienced models, Bravissimo called their customers to find the newest group of ladies to grace their ad campaigns. After 600 applicants and 40 castings, they narrowed the list down to the top 5: Jess Edwards, Leela Tikador, Katie Hardy, Riann Quinn and Patricia Arteaga. The women range in age from 21-34 and they are all the traditional “Bravissimo body” – curvy and busty!
Jess Edwards, a 21-year old who wears a 30HH, said,
“It’s given me confidence in myself and in my body…I’m also really proud of myself, that I’ve had the confidence to show off my curves to the nation.”
Anna Price, Bravissimo spokesman told the Daily Mail,
“The Bravissimo campaign promotes healthy body image by showing that real women can look fantastic too…Our customers have told us that they would prefer to see images of real women than of models. The girls we have chosen are beautiful yet attainable.”

I agree with Krista. Who needs wafer-thin models when there are so many real-life beautiful women about? Long overdue!
Well, these women look fabulous, and it is a fitting layout for a brand that caters to larger women. But really, 30HH is hardly what most women look like either. I get really tired of all the bashing of thin women as somehow unrealistic. Everyone has a different body and by all means lets see more of a variety of types in advertising. But why does this usually translate to mean women with big breasts? Most men I know would hardly be challenged by that. I wear a 34AA – where are the lingerie models who look like me?
jomaira – Luckily there are brands and retailers who cater to smaller cup sizes as well. Lulalu.com and evesappleslingerie.com are just a couple that have 34AA in stock (and smaller busted models as well!)
