Towelinis for 2008

Born out of the aggravation of carrying a towel on the beach amidst all the other paraphernalia one hauls around when sun bathing or swimming, the Towelini creator decided that it was time to do something. So she made a wearable beach towel. Turqoise ToweliniA simple and easy to use garment, basically the Towelini is worn as a dress, skirt or cape.

Once you arrive at the beach or spa, the Towelini is removed and used as a beach blanket or towel for drying off when finished swimming. Made of one hundred percent organic cotton, the material is more absorbent and more comfortable than regular cotton. The colours include Coral, Lime Green and Turquoise Blue.

Another benefit of wearing the Towelini is saving on beach cover-ups. Not only does it avoid carrying a towel, but also, a sundress or other garment is not needed. The Towelini doubles as your towel and your dress. The website is informative instructing the users on different ways to tie the towel to make various dress or skirt styles and there is also a blog where Towelini’s progress is chronicled.

I love this concept. I used a Towelini when I went backpacking through Asia last month and it was great. As a travel towel it dried pretty fast, and I didn’t have to bring all the other stuff, just the Towelini and I was good. Great on the beach.
