Princess: Polish Lingerie

In this series, TLP will narrow our coverage of lingerie around the globe and focus on the country of Poland. Poland has a long history of textile manufacturing and since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Poland has been embracing market economies. Freed from quotas and mandated manufacturing, many Polish textile companies are stepping on to the world stage.

Princess feels like a smaller, Polish version of Frederick’s of Hollywood. They have their own print catalog and a fairly broad offering. The collection from Princess seems to exemplify Polish design: plenty of ribbon, plenty of lace, and plenty of brocade. For some companies, this might be a recipe for disaster – producing something so sugary-sweet that it would lessen the appeal. Princess mixes these elements and delivers a very feminine product that looks well suited for the boudoir.

For 2008, Princess is changing their look or at least their model. For close to four years, every Princess design was modeled by the same woman. For this summer, the new model looks like she would be comfortable walking off the sand in Newport Beach in California.

Princess lists these e-tailers on their site:

Hi Rene, I think that you are not presenting the most interesting Polish manufacturers. To name one: AVOCADO.

    Here is their collection:

Unfortunately their web site is only in Polish (SHAME!). In a few words I can say, that they were the first Polish brand to produce 28 and 30 band sizes and D+ and G+ cup sizes. The design is interesting (a bit different from the ultra-romantic styles full of ribbon and embroidery that other companies here produce). The only disadvantage is the price (waaay to high for most Polish customers, about ?50 for a bra).

A couple of these are already in the works, I think there six more articles queued and I’m finishing up about 10 more. I’ll add the other two of your suggestions.

    Cheers.
