The $122,000 Thong

The Triumph Luxurious Diamond Thong was displayed at the Viva La Eve lingerie fashion show in Singapore on Thursday, blowing attendees away. The black lace thong, worth $122,000, is encrusted with 518 brilliant-cut diamonds, totaling 30 carats. The indulgent effect was finished off with 27 white gold tassels.

The model, Danielle Luminita from Romania, was wearing the thong (and nothing else) as she was carried down the runway by two male models. The thong was commissioned by Triumph International, and the spokeswoman said that the thong would be dry-cleaned before going on display. “It’s a signature piece, obviously we aren’t going to sell it.”

So how does it feel? Luminita said backstage, “It is very comfortable. It’s not heavy or scratchy or anything.”
