I must say, how absolutely scrumptious it is to meet you all! Welcome to the New Year and my world that is Patrick & Skinner. 2007 for me was defiantly about creating an awareness of the brand and our ideas towards lingerie. Inspired from the feminine indulgence, whatever that may be to you, my goal is to push the boundaries of concept in order to manifest a very sweet playground for all to play in. Me included!

The year’s focus indulgence has been ‘Chocolate’. We have brought to you ‘Mint –Choc-Chip’ & ‘Raspberry-Chocolate Ripple’ now we plan to complete the trilogy with ‘Chocolate-Pralines & Cream. Researching for a collection is always so much fun and crawling through endless swatches of yummy coloured silks and satin ribbons is no exception! It was essential to get the base colour of the silk for this piece spot on. I didn’t want to end up with ivory or bland beige as the feel I require from the base, though pale, is a very warm indulgent one (yes, Silk has feelings too!) I’ve settled on fine Buttermilk silk with a Sable satin ribbon & lace and sent the sample off for production to begin.

January 2008 brings a whole new level of work but one shall enjoy every agonising minute of it more than I will! I’m redeveloping the website to be an easier canvas for adding new pieces, we are being featured in a number of trade magazines, Glossies and buyer guides over the next few months so I am continuously surrounded by a sea of images and word documents, I’m hand making our look books for a more personal crafty feel, then there is the Paris Salon. Though we are not exhibiting I have some fantastic meetings arranged so busy preparing samples for this. 2008 will bring ‘The Sweetie Shop’ the indulgence we are creating at present. I wont give too much away until I can post some artwork but lets just say Rhubarb & Custard comes to mind. Ok, I’m off to trail through some more fabric and speak with my intern about getting some patterns cut, and, and, and!
